The loss of daydreaming

Jaron Lanier, Silicon Valley guru and critic of social media, says at school he used to stare out of the window as if hypnotised. “I still do. I am content to sit and think. One of the losses of this business model of trying to keep people continuously in the thrall of a device is the loss of daydreaming.”

 

I so agree.––that loss is one of the biggest dangers.

Maybe virtual reality will soon take the place of novels and other storytelling and life in general, but I will bow out. Luddite.
