Inuit worry: Northwest Passage

too many big ships, too little ice

good Al Jazeera article from a Canadian point of view - polluting oil tankers, coal barges, cargo ships, tourist cruise liners dumping their dry cleaning fluids, argh...how can animals or a tiny fishing skiff compete?
 
My hometown of Nome, Alaska on narrow Bering Strait is very concerned about this too.
